ZAKEE SHARIFF for ASOS | AW08

Zakee has produced a limited edition collection for online store ASOS called 'Zakee for ASOS'. It consists of a range of six dresses, three tops, and two scarves, all incorporating Zakee's signature prints and embroideries based around her love of the big cats. The collection is now available online here, and there's a fun preview here.

ZAKEE SHARIFF FOR LEONA NAESS | 2008

Zakee is art directing and designing the new album campaign for singer/songwriter Leona Naess in collaboration with her husband Al. The album, entitled 'Thirteens', has just been released in the USA on Verve Forecast. Click here to see more on the campaign.

Zakee and her good friend and fellow creative, photographer Rosalind Miller, have launched their own web site, www.shariffmiller.com, showcasing collaborative artwork produced by the pair over the last seven years. Their work may be seen as an example of how two different mediums, photography and silk-screen printmaking, can work harmoniously together.

AL FINGERS MEETS ZAKEE SHARIFF – STARDUST | 2007

DJ Al Fingers has compiled a mixtape entitled Stardust to accompany Zakee's collection of the same name (you can view it in the Fashion Gallery). Featuring Jill Scott, Minnie Riperton, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole, and Brian Eno among others, the mix is Al Fingers' musical interpretation of Zakee's work, and revolves around a central celestial theme as sung by Joni Mitchell in her song Woodstock: "We are stardust, we are golden, and we've got to get ourselves back to the garden".
You can listen to the mix on Al Fingers' web site, and the CD is available from Juno Records.
